What You Need To Know:-

Today 19th July 2025, the Mbale District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Miriam Mukhaye together with the Mbale District Health Officer Dr. Masa Wangisi, who doubles as her husband commissioned a medical Aid facility in Nambwa parish.

It was established that the building accommodating the facility was donated for use by one of the residents in the community.

According to the attendance records, the facility is attending to 70-100 outside patients on a daily basis, and it is serving over 70 villages in the subcounty.

Speaking to a few community members, it was discovered that the nearby Government medical facility was located 7Km, which at times makes it complicated for them to access treatment.

"We are so grateful to Dr. Wangisi and Mp Mukhaye for the extension of this Aid which is benefiting the community, though we request Government and probably request our Mp to push for a permanent health center in our parish"- Wanda Timothy, community member.

Another Community member revealed that the Aid is experiencing less man power since it operates 90% on volunteers and on a no budget.

While speaking to the congregation, Dr. Wangisi assured them of better medical facilities since it is Government’s mandate to establish such services.

"With the help of your Woman MP Mukhaye, we were able to have this facility established in Nambwa, we thank the community for willingly surrendering this structure. Miriam secured a few building materials and other items for it to be operational, and here we are now"- Dr. Wangisi noted.

He further revealed that as the District health boss, she will push the community's agenda of acquiring a health Cwnter.

In her remarks, Miriam revealed that as a member of parliament, she will find all venues of making sure that Mbale district achieves in all sectors, including Medical, Education, infrastructure and poverty eradication.
