Mbale:-Uganda — The Mbale District Woman Mp Hon. Miriam Mukhaye has confirmed that residents of Mbale District are fully prepared to vote the NRM presidential flag bearer and President of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Miriam made the statement as M7 was concluding his visit and campaign in Bugisu districts on Monday, November 10th.
What You Need To Know:
The President address supporters in his final rally in Bugisu District Headquarters starting at 11:00 am, with gates opening at 9:00 AM to allow early arrivals.
Before M7's speech, Miriam said preparations were in high gear and that the people of Mbale were eager to receive the Head of State. She revealed that mobilization materials such as caps, T-shirts, and reflectors have been distributed to the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) to boost grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2026 general election.
She noted that the district has been “turned yellow” in anticipation of the President’s arrival and reaffirmed the residents’ commitment to the NRM’s development agenda and the PLU’s patriotic mission of mobilizing citizens for national transformation.
Hon. Miriam who is in her first term on independent ticket, said residents hope the President would address key challenges facing the area and highlight the government’s achievements under the Parish Development Model and the Uganda Women Empowerment Programme.
She appealed to the government to consider upgrading key district roads, especially the Busano, Bubilabi and Butaleja ro1ads, which would connect Mbale to major routes between Mbale–Butaleja and Busano–Bududa. “If the road are tarmacked, production will increase, value addition will improve, and farmers will easily access markets,” she said.
She further commended district leaders for the quality of work done, saying the completed facilities reflect proper use of public funds.
“We are proud of the progress made in Mbale and remain committed to supporting local development efforts across the country,”-Miriam.
Miriam further pointed out inadequate infrastructure in schools, including a lack of classrooms, pit latrines, and desks, which continues to hinder the delivery of quality education.
She also expressed concern over the late release of the Parish Revolving Fund (PRF) by the Ministry of Finance, contrary to the approved schedule, saying this delay affects the timely implementation of development, though she said mobilization are in high gear for M7 and NRM to win 85% in Mbale in 2026 compared to the 2021 election statistics.
