Masaka Chief Magistrate Albert Asiimwe has declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate Justine Nameere the duly elected Member of Parliament for Masaka City following a three-day vote recount.
According to the final results, Nameere secured 25,502 votes, defeating National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate Rose Nalubowa, who garnered 23,176 votes.
It should be noted that Previously, the returning officer had declared Rose Nalubowa as the winner, forcing Nameere to run to court.
