The Resident District Commissioner's office in Mbale district was abuzz with activity today as a security meeting was held to prepare for tomorrow's LC3 chairperson elections. The meeting, attended by key stakeholders including the Electoral Commission Officer, Madam Mary, RDC Mr. Bayole Stanley, DISO, DPC, and other security personnel, focused on ensuring a peaceful and successful electoral process.
Madam Mary, the Electoral Commission Officer, emphasized the importance of using BVVK machines at all polling stations, warning that any station found not complying would be cancelled, and officers in charge would face the law.
RDC Mr. Bayole Stanley issued a stern warning to individuals planning to disrupt the elections, stating that heavy security deployment would be in place in parts of Mbale district to maintain law and order. He urged citizens to turn out in large numbers to exercise their right to elect their leaders.
The security team identified several sub-counties deemed high-risk and developed a plan to deploy additional security personnel to these areas until the exercise is completed. With these measures in place, the district is set for a peaceful and credible election.
