According to senior Journalist Musamali Arnold aka Freeman, the flooding in the viral videos and photos is as a result of the disruptions of nature especially Nakivubo channel by Hamis Kiggundu as visibly witnessed after today's downpour that lasted an hour.

The traders who operate in the affected shops told this publication that they lost an unspecified amount of money due to the floods.

This includes incidents like drownings (e.g., two young children in Bukoto) and others swept away or involved in accidents due to the flooding. Areas like Kinawataka saw multiple recoveries, and many homes, especially in low-lying zones, have been affected.
The heavy rain triggered widespread flooding in parts of the city center and other neighborhoods, leaving motorists and pedestrians stranded, submerging streets, and causing significant property damage.
Traders in downtown areas are reporting losses as shops and merchandise were inundated.
This is part of the ongoing rainy season challenges, with the government having warned earlier in March about potential flash floods in urban areas like Kampala due to expected heavy rainfall from March to May.
