Gen. Kayihura is one of the generals who will be retired from the army tomorrow 30th August 2023.Army court has today drops torture charges against him.
The General Court Martial has cleared Gen Kale Kayihura of the torture charges pressed against him years ago.
Kayihura faced charges, which included failure to protect war materials and aiding and abetting the kidnapping of Rwandese refugees. The charges were filed in 2018, a year after he had stepped down as police chief.
A happy Kayihura told media at the Makindye court that he thanked God for taking him through his troubles successfully.
