Umukuka III Uwelugosi Jude Mike Mudoma meets with Bugisu Region MP's ahead of his Inauguration On October 14th.


Members of parliament of Bugisu-region Over the weekend held a successful meeting with Umuguga we Bamasaba iii, Uwelugosi Jude Mike Mudoma ahead of his inauguration.


The MPs were led by their chairperson Bugisu parliamentary group, Hon. Wanda Richard.


While speaking to the media, Umukuka Mudoma called upon all the Members of parliament to support the cultural institution for the good of Masaba land.


"I've embarked on the tour in all clans of Masaba land including Kenya ahead of the official inauguration on 14th Oct 2023"- Said Umukuka Mudoma.


Umukuka also requested the area MPs to be present when he visits their districts and constituencies.

He further called upon MPs to elect one person who is going to be a link between the cultural Institution and MPs for timely updates and good coordination. 


The Umukuka revealed that there will be a meeting with MPs this week in  Kampala to share the Inzu strategic issues and way forward, especially regarding the inauguration.


In attendance were: Hon. Wakooli Godfrey Matembu of Butiru County, Hon. Faith Magola, Mp Bungokho North, and Hon Werikhe Peter, MP Bubulo West.


Others included:- Prime Minister, Walimbwa Peeke, Mr. Victor Kyemuswa Wanyoto, and counsel Masereje Richard.

Wagabyalire and his cabinet have been occupying the Maluku Offices ever since the 2nd Umukuuka passed on in 2021. 


Recently Government recognized and gazetted. Jude Mike Mudoma as the 3rd Umukuuka of Masaba

was sworn in as Umukuuka III for Inzu Ya Masaba  InstituCulturaltion early this month.




The Swearing-in ceremony was on Friday 4th August 2023, at Malukhu (Lukhobo) and was presided over by Ms. Tusiimire Annitah the chief Magistrate of Mbale high court.

During this process, Mr. Charles Walimbwa Peke was also sworn in as the new prime minister of the Bamasaba cultural institution.

The swearing-in follows the government through the Ministry of gender labor and Social-development gazetted Mudoma in the Uganda Government Gazette on 1 August 2023.


Since the death of Umukuuka II Bob Mushikori, it's now three years, since the cultural institution has been struggling and fighting to get a new leader.  

There have been two factions that of John Amram Wagabyalire and Jude Mike Mudoma until when the government recognized one. 

Umukuuka Mudoma while speaking to Journalists shortly after swearing in said this is a great day, and a turning point for the new Bumasaba, with this high spirit of Bamasaba, 

"Am going to start a healing process because many people are wounded, I will form a reconciliation committee together to forge a way forward to build Bumasaba because the ultimate aim is that we all want to be leaders but I have emerged as a winner so since we don't have any serious issue for fighting so we should come back and work together," Mudoma revealed. 

He said, we're going to create an institutional framework reforms commission, so that we can now come up with a proper objective to address issues of our values and interests, if I appoint you as a minister you'll know how you operate. 

Amb Walimbwa Peke Charles upon his appointment as the prime minister of Inzu ya Masaba noted that he's happy for having worked for Masaba land for quite some time. 

"It was very disappointing to see Bamasaba divided but because am on a driving team am going to forge for unity one language, development, and set a foundation for the future of Bamasaba," He added.
