Gov't School In A Sorry State, Well Wishers Mobilise Money Go Build Bunanimi School


YMCA members attached to the Mbale branch have donated books to Bunanimi Primary School in Nabumali Town Council, Mbale District, and have promised to lend a hand in refurbishing the dilapidated structures of the school. 

This follows stories aired and circulated on social media, highlighting the sorry state of the school, where some classrooms are leaking and others have no roofs.

According to information gathered, the school which was constructed in the early 70's went roofless after a heavy hailstorm, which happened late in 2022. 

A few teachers who spoke to this website but never wanted their names withheld revealed that pupils find it complicated to study.

"Take for example, we don't teach on every Friday, we use this day to rehabilitate the school using cowdung"- One of the teachers, name withheld.

Another teacher name withheld also revealed that classes share classrooms. 

"P1,P2 and P3 share classrooms, p4 and p5 share classrooms and this is terrible during rainy seasons"- A teacher.

Bunanimi Primary School has population of approximately three Thousand Pupils.
