"Late Umukuuka Wamimbi Advocated For Unity, Development & Loved His Culture"-Masaba Muhamood Eulogies


Mr. Masaba Muhamood, the individual city division Mayor, who doubles a the Mbale District NRM Chairman, has lauded the late Umukuuka Wilson Weasa Wamimbi for his pivotal role in fostering unity within Bugisu & always loving and promoting Lumasaba worldwide.

Masaba is also aiming at contesting as member of parliament, Bungokho Central in 2026.

Late Ambassador, Wamimbi, who served as the inaugural District head for Greater Bugisu, and later as Uganda's Ambassador to Canada, was also the first Umukuuka of the Bamasaaba Cultural Institution, Inzu Ya Masaaba. 

Until his recent passing, he, has been holding the position of Chairperson of the Vetting Committee of the Bugisu Cooperative Union -BCU.

Umukuuka Wamimbi's demise occurred last Friday evening at Mulago National Referral Hospital.

While speaking to our reporter at his home in Nabumali Town council, Masaba noted that  Umukuuka Maximum commanded widespread respect throughout Bugisu, particularly for his dedication to unifying the region through principles of meritocracy and incorruptibility.

noted how the deceased empharsized patience throughout his entire life, hence urging all Bamasaba to emulate the same character.

“May I request you, the Bamasaba especially the young generation to learn to be perseverance, love you culture, be patient and be able to grow like he did.” Masaba said 

Former Umukuka Wamimbi will be buried this weekend at his home in Busano, in Mbale District.
