Outgoing Fort Portal RCC Bayoole Says NRM Focused On Consolidating Power As He Hands Over Office

Outgoing Fort Portal City Resident City Commissioner (RCC), Stanley Bayoole, has said that the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party is not in power to share it but to consolidate and strengthen its position.

He made the remarks during his farewell dinner held at Fort Breeze Hotel, attended by city leaders and other invited guests.

Bayoole emphasized that the NRM has a long-term vision for Uganda, aimed at ensuring peace, stability, and development. He noted that the party’s leadership is focused on safeguarding the gains achieved over the years and guiding the country toward future prosperity.

He rallied citizens to stand firmly behind President Yoweri Museveni and support him in the upcoming 2026 general elections. According to Bayoole, continued support for Museveni would guarantee the country’s progress under experienced and visionary leadership.

Bayoole also urged leaders at various levels to remain committed to the NRM's agenda and work closely with the people to maintain public trust. He said unity and consistency within the party are key to achieving its goals across the country.

His comments come as he officially hands over office following his transfer to Mbale City as part of a broader reshuffle of RDCs and RCCs recently announced by President Museveni. Bayoole has served in Fort Portal for ten months .
