Read Here-Why Nakku Fiona Is the Leader Uganda’s Youth Have Been Waiting For!

As Uganda approaches the 2026 general elections, the political temperature continues to rise, particularly in the youth representation space.

Among the leading contenders for the position of National Female Youth Member of Parliament is Hon. Nakku Fiona, a name that is steadily becoming synonymous with compassion, commitment, and transformation.

With a growing support base across the country, Hon. Fiona’s message resonates strongly with young Ugandans who are yearning for a leader who listens, acts, and aligns with the national vision of socio-economic transformation.

Hon. Fiona brings a refreshing style of leadership built on empathy and servant-hood. Her record of community service, especially among young women and marginalised youth, speaks for itself. From mentoring young girls in rural districts to coordinating youth skilling camps in urban centres, Nakku has long understood that leadership is not rooted in political grandstanding but in selfless action.

“What distinguishes Hon. Nakku Fiona is her ability to listen. She doesn’t just attend events for visibility—she follows up, checks in, and works behind the scenes to solve real issues affecting us,” says Clare Ayebare, a youth activist based in Mbarara.

Her approach reflects the leadership ideals espoused by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, particularly around socio-economic transformation. She is an open supporter of the President’s Parish Development Model (PDM), a flagship initiative that aims to transition Ugandans from subsistence to commercial production.

Nakku believes that the youth must be at the forefront of this transformation and that investing in their education, skills, and enterprise is the only sustainable path to national prosperity.

“The President has always emphasised that the future belongs to the young people. But the future is not a promise; it must be prepared for. I am stepping forward to ensure the youth are fully equipped to take charge of that future,” she said at a recent youth dialogue in Mbale.

Her campaign platform is anchored on three core pillars: education and skills development, youth economic empowerment, and enhanced youth representation in policymaking.
