President Yoweri Museveni's Revolving Fund programme Cast At 24,168 Households In Mbale District, and with the next fund dispatch, the statics will stand at 27,000 household beneficiaries.
The implementation of the Government’s Parish Development Model is taking shape in Mbale District with some success stories.
According to the focal person, Wanakina George Davidson in an exclusive interview with this publication Wanakina reveals that more funds were released by the ministry of finance for another cash round off to the beneficiaries, who are expected to get it between August-November 2025.
Wanakin George Davidson affirms that the findings show that the funds disbursement stands at 98.75% with over 90 PDM SACCOs including 2,175 vibrant enterprise groups.
17 Sub counties and three town councils are direct beneficiaries walloping a total of 23,063,070,372 as projected though apparently, 22,741,070,372 amount has been successfully disbursed.
He further says, as implementers, they will go by the president's directives of handling even those who got half the money in the 1st and 2nd phase.
It should be noted that 98% of the 1st and 2nd pdm beneficiaries received between 200,000/= -700,000/=, yet the target was 1M per household.
Upon getting several complaints from beneficiaries across the country, President M7 immediately ordered that everyone must have 1m, including those who previously got half the money.
Interviews from key model beneficiaries:-
Sarah Nagudi a resident of Kyesula village, Bunamahe parish in Budwale Sub County in Mbale District does not regret receiving Parish Development Model funds. Nagudi a member of Kyesula Onion Association says that she received one million shillings under the parish development model programme.
According to Nagudi, she harvested one thousand kilogrammes of onion and on selling, she got three million shillings. Nagudi says the money has enabled her to diversify into other ventures.
Iddi Musamali a resident of Nambale village, Bushikori parish, Bungokho Sub County in Mbale District is a member of Nambale Fish Farming Association.
According to Musamali his association got 15 million shillings from the Parish Development Model programme with each member getting one million shillings each. Musamali says they have been able to use the proceeds from fish farming to venture into dairy farming.
Though Mr. George Davidson Wanakina the Mbale District PDM Focal Person said despite the success stories, some cases of extortion and corruption by some technical officers and Sacco leaders have been reported and handled expeditiously.
