The National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer for Bungokho Central, Mr. Muhamood Masaaba Mutenyo, has partnered with the West Bengal Charity Organization to extend humanitarian support to residents affected by recent disasters in the constituency.

Heavy rains in the area left several families displaced after their homes either collapsed or developed dangerous cracks. During a visit to Bumasike Village, Bubentsye Parish in Nyondo Subcounty, the charity’s team leader, Mr. Ali, pledged to reconstruct 30 houses for the most affected households.

In Muruba, Bubentsye Parish, the delegation committed to constructing a water station to serve the community with clean water. Additionally, upon seeing a dilapidated mosque in the area, the charity pledged to support the reconstruction of a modern mosque for worshippers.

The delegation also visited Nabumali Town Council, where they interacted with persons with disabilities. The meeting was emotional, with members of the charity organization moved to tears by the challenges faced by the residents. The team donated 15 wheelchairs to individuals with mobility difficulties.

The beneficiaries came from across the constituency notably Busano, Busoba, Bumbobi, Nabumali Town Council, Bungokho and Nyondo.

In Nashisaka Village, where residents have long struggled with limited access to safe water, the charity pledged to construct three solar-powered boreholes to serve the community with clean and reliable water.

Residents across the constituency expressed their gratitude to Mr. Masaaba for lobbying support from international partners. Many pledged to rally behind his leadership bid, praising the initiative as a practical step towards restoring hope in Bungokho Central.
