What You Need To Know:
In 2021 general elections, Candidates in Bududa district were riding on the unfulfilled pledges by the incumbent leaders to garner support from the electorate, of whom it included Wetsetse.
The candidates who include Esther Wetsetse, were vying for the Bududa Woman MP seat took advantage of the unfulfilled pledges by the incumbent candidates to request for votes from the people of Bududa to vote for Nandutu.
During their door-to-door campaigns for votes, Wetsetse noted that for over four years, the incumbent MP had abandoned the electorate and failed to address the challenges affecting the area.
Wetsetse cited the incumbent, Justine Khinza, the Bududa Woman MP who pledged to lobby for clean water, improve road network, electricity, and good health facilities to the people during the 2016 elections but all in vain.
Her great mobilization gained a massively vote for Nandutu, who massively won the seat.
At the moment Wetsetse says that the district still lags in social services and that some of the families that lost property in mudslides of Bukalasi have not been relocated.
She criticizes the incumbent MP, Nandutu for turning a deaf ear to the concerns of the electorate, but rather focused on stilling iron sheets ans enriching herself.
