Ibrahim Wasikye has been duly nominated as a candidate for Mayor of Mbale Industrial City Division on the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) ticket.
He pledged to restore the lost glory of Mbale, once celebrated as one of the cleanest towns in the country.
Speaking to Bugisu Intellectual, shortly after his nomination, Wasikye thanked God, the people of Mbale Industrial City Division, and the FDC leadership for their unwavering support throughout the process. He also appreciated the party delegates for standing strong during the exercise.
“I have come to rebuild Mbale, improve road infrastructure, health services, and education. I humbly request you all that when the time comes, please stand with me,” he said.
Wasikye further emphasized that his campaign is not just about his personal ambitions but about continuing the legacy of former Mayor Wasike, under whose leadership Mbale earned national recognition.
