Busiu Archdeaconry under the Church of Uganda has pledged unwavering support to Hon. Miriam Mukhaye after she paid a courtesy visit to the clergy and church council.

The Mbale District Woman MP and NRM Flag Bearer was warmly received and prayed for as she presented the NRM flag to the Archdeaconry.

During the visit, the clergy appreciated Hon. Mukhaye’s contributions to the church and community, commending her service in health, education and religious affairs.

Can. Rev. Johnston Wasilwa, the Archdeacon of Busiu Archdeaconry in Mbale Diocese, had convened a special meeting with clergy leaders to welcome Hon. Mukhaye when Hon. Mukhaye visited. He praised her commitment to supporting religious institutions, especially the Church of Uganda, where she is an active member and serves as head of the Mothers’ Union.

“Hon. Miriam has been an outstanding leader. Her work in the health and education sectors speaks for itself,” Can. Rev. Wasilwa said. “We have known her as a God-fearing and diligent servant of her God and her people. She deserves more support for another term so Mbale can continue benefiting from her service and consolidating the gains made.”

The clergy unanimously affirmed their support for her re-election, expressing confidence in her ability to continue delivering effectively for the people of Mbale District.

Hon. Mukhaye expressed gratitude to God, the clergy and the entire church community for their spiritual and moral support.

She thanked them for standing with her during the NRM primaries, which enabled her to secure the party flag.

“It is God who has enabled us to stand strong and reach this far,” she said. “Our people have been good and supportive and I pledge to continue serving them diligently and faithfully.”

The session concluded with Can. Rev. Wasilwa leading the clergy in a special prayer of blessing over Hon. Mukhaye. She knelt as the clergy prayed for her success in the next phase of her journey.
