"Love you'r Country Uganda"- Col. Nakalema Urges Victoria University Students to Embrace Patriotism, Responsible Citizenship

The Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit, Col. Edith Nakalema, has urged students at Victoria University to embrace patriotism and responsible citizenship as a pathway to building a safer and more conscientious generation.

Speaking during a public lecture themed “Patriotism and Responsible Citizenship,” Col. Nakalema emphasized that creativity and good fortune follow those committed to continuous self-improvement.

She challenged students to use digital platforms not only for personal advancement but also to demonstrate love for their country and contribute to national transformation.

“Every young person has an obligation to protect their land, understand who they are, and strive for excellence,” she said.

Col. Nakalema further encouraged students to continually add value to themselves beyond the classroom and to practice self-accountability with dedication in all their endeavors.

She reminded learners that the decisions they make today will shape their future.

“To be truly patriotic, one must serve with commitment, make sacrifices where necessary, and go the extra mile where others hesitate. Credentials may open doors, but character sustains long-term success,” she noted.
