Ministry of ICT's Permanent Secretary, Dr. Amina zawedde named among the Top 45 Most Influential Women in Digital Transformation 2024–2025 across Africa


The Uganda Ministry of Information Technology Permanent Secretary, Dr. Amina zawedde has been named among the Top 45 Most Influential Women in Digital Transformation 2024–2025 across Africa.


This recognition highlights her outstanding leadership and contribution to advancing Uganda’s digital transformation agenda, driving innovation, creating jobs for the youth through BPO, strengthening ICT infrastructure, and promoting inclusive digital growth.


Speaking to Dr. Zawedde says this is not only her achievement as an individual, buth rarhwr be celebrated by Uganda and large. 

"We all celebrate this achievement and remain committed to building a digitally empowered Uganda"-Dr. Zawedde.



Dr. Zawedde is the only Ugandan on the list, which recognises women shaping the continent’s digital, innovation, policy and technology agenda.

Other figures featured include Rwanda’s Minister of ICT and Innovation Paula Ingabire, South Africa’s Naspers CEO Phuthi Mahanyele-Dabengwa, and pioneering innovators from across 10 African countries.

CIO Africa said the honorees are transforming sectors ranging from artificial intelligence and digital health to e-commerce, fintech and cybersecurity.
