𝘚𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘢𝘺, 20𝘵𝘩 𝘋𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳, 2025
𝙈𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙚, 𝙐𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖 — Mbale District Local Government has awarded Mr. Wandulu Dismas, the Headteacher of Nyondo Secondary School, as the Best Secondary School Headteacher of the Year 2025 marking his second consecutive win, having received the same award in 2024.
The award was presented during the district’s end-of-year party held at Lukhobo on Tuesday, November 19, 2025. Mr. Wandulu received a gift and a Certificate of Appreciation signed by the LC V Chairperson and the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Ms. Angella Akurut.
The recognition was in appreciation of Mr. Wandulu’s outstanding efforts in improving both curricular and co-curricular activities at Nyondo Secondary School.
Speaking after receiving the award, Mr. Wandulu attributed his success to teamwork, accountability, and respect for all stakeholders.
“𝘔𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘧𝘧 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘰𝘵𝘩 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘶𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦,” 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘞𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘶.
The Mbale District Resident Commissioner (RDC), Mr. Bayole Stanley, who was the chief guest at the event, applauded the achievements of Mbale District and encouraged local government staff to improve their livelihoods through entrepreneurship and agriculture. He also urged civil servants to support the ruling government in the forthcoming elections as a way of protecting the gains made so far.
Meanwhile, the Chief Administrative Officer, Ms. Angella Akurut, commended Mbale District Local Government staff for their cooperation and hard work, which has enabled the district to deliver services effectively.

At the same event, the Health Department was recognized as the Best Department in Mbale District Local Government.
This award highlights Mr. Wandulu Dismas’s exemplary leadership and dedication to service, setting a strong benchmark for educational excellence in Mbale District and the region at large.
