Speaker Among Buys Shs100m MK Birthday Run Kits For Bukedea Comprehensive Students

Kampala — Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among has announced that Bukedea Comprehensive School has purchased running kits worth Shs100 million to enable its students participate in the upcoming Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba (MK) 52nd Birthday Run.

Speaking at a function, Among—who is also Bukedea Woman MP and a director at the school—said the move is aimed at instilling patriotism among learners.

“As one of the directors of Bukedea Comprehensive Schools, because General Muhoozi is a patriot, the children also want to be patriots. We can only build our country when we love it and act in its best interest,” she said.

She confirmed that the funds for the kits had already been delivered ahead of the run scheduled for April 26, 2026, in Bukedea.

“The school has decided to buy kits worth Shs100 million, and the money has already been delivered. I want to assure you that Bukedea Comprehensive School is fully prepared,” Among added.

The Speaker further revealed that she, alongside other Members of Parliament—some of whom are also directors of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU)—will participate in the run. Uganda travel guide

“I know as Members of Parliament, we are all going to join General MK on that day to run for hope and victory. I will personally be there,” she said.

Among also thanked Gen. Muhoozi for endorsing her for the Speakership, as well as Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa.

The MK Birthday Run is part of a broader mobilisation campaign promoting patriotism, fitness, and charitable causes.
