Today Nyondo Secondary School held a successful Annual General Meeting this week, bringing together parents, teachers, leaders, and stakeholders to reflect on progress and plan for the future.
The Guest of Honour was the District Education Officer, Mbale District Mr Khaukha Sam Paddy who applauded the school’s management for the visible strides made in academics, discipline, and infrastructure. In his address, the DEO made a strong call to parents: _“Support your children at all costs while they are at school. Provide them with the needed materials — books, pens, uniforms — because education is a partnership between school and home.”_ He emphasized that learner success depends as much on parental involvement as it does on teachers.
The DEO also appreciated mr Samanya Peter the headteacher of mulatsi ss together with Mr Wandulu Dismas of Nyondo for their tireless efforts in raising the standards of education in the region.
Mr. Wandulu Dismas, Headteacher of Nyondo SS, assured parents that Nyondo SS is a school of action, not just words. _“At Nyondo we do not speak and stop there. We work, and the results are seen,”_ he said. True to his words, parents were taken on a guided tour of the school. They expressed deep satisfaction at the developments on ground — improved classrooms, ongoing projects, and a clean, organized learning environment.
The meeting was also a platform for open dialogue. Parents raised several concerns they felt were affecting the school. In a spirit of transparency, Mr. Wandulu addressed each issue point by point, explaining interventions already in place and plans for continuous improvement. Parents appreciated the honest engagement.
During the AGM, Nyondo SS recognized its stars. The best UCE and UACE students from last year were awarded tokens of appreciation for making the school proud.Heads of Departments across various subjects were also rewarded for their dedication and effort in shaping top performers.
The Headteacher also unveiled Nyondo SS’s ambitious plan to construct high-rise storied buildings to accommodate growing enrollment and modernize facilities. He vowed to kick-start construction works this very year, calling on parents and stakeholders to rally behind the vision.
