Bugisu Parliamentary Caucus Chairman, Mp Wakooli’s Leadership Strengthens Unity & Solidarity Among Bugisu MPs

The Bugisu Parliamentary Caucus has continued to demonstrate growing unity, solidarity and teamwork under the leadership of its Chairperson, Hon. Godfrey Wakooli Matembu, the Member of Parliament for Butiru County.

The renewed cooperation among Bugisu legislators was evident over the weekend when more than five MPs from the caucus joined Hon. Julius Nakiyi, MP for Budadiri East, to mourn and support him during the burial of his brother, the late Charles Robert Nagimesi.

The show of solidarity has been welcomed as a sign of strong leadership and a new spirit of togetherness among Bugisu MPs in the 12th Parliament.

Under the stewardship of Hon. Wakooli, the caucus has increasingly positioned itself as a united platform through which legislators can support one another while collectively advocating for the interests and development of the Bamasaba people.

Speaking to mourners, Hon. Wakooli commended the members for standing with their colleague during a difficult moment, saying such unity demonstrates the strength of collective leadership.

He also acknowledged the challenges affecting the Bugisu sub-region and assured residents that the caucus is working on a common strategy to address the region’s development concerns.

The unity being demonstrated by the caucus has raised optimism that Bugisu MPs can speak with one voice on critical issues affecting their constituents, while strengthening their ability to lobby government for development.

The support extended to Hon. Nakiyi and his family, therefore, goes beyond mourning. It reflects a growing culture of solidarity, cooperation and collective responsibility among Bugisu legislators.
