In a determined push to transform education access in one of Busano’s most underserved communities, Member of Parliament Masaba Muhamood has intensified efforts to secure a new primary school for Muyango Village, partnering with the West Bengal Charity Foundation to turn long-standing community demands into reality.

The MP has been actively engaging local leaders, education officials, and the Indian-based foundation in recent weeks, highlighting the severe shortage of learning facilities that forces many children in Muyango to walk long distances or forgo schooling altogether.

Residents say overcrowded classrooms in neighbouring villages and dilapidated structures have left hundreds of pupils without a proper place to learn.

“Education is the foundation of every community’s progress. The children of Muyango deserve a modern, safe, and accessible primary school, and I will not rest until this becomes a reality,” MP Masaba Muhamood said in a statement following a series of meetings with foundation representatives and district education officers. 

“I am grateful for the interest shown by the West Bengal Charity Foundation. Their support, combined with government and community commitment, can deliver this project.”

The West Bengal Charity Foundation, known for supporting educational and community development initiatives, is currently assessing the proposal. 

Sources close to the discussions indicate the foundation is considering funding for construction, furniture, and basic learning materials, subject to final site verification and local matching contributions.

Local leaders in Busano have welcomed the MP’s advocacy. Village elders and parents in Muyango described the current situation as critical, with many children studying under trees or in temporary shelters during the rainy season. 

Community members have already identified potential land for the school and pledged to provide labour and local materials once construction begins.

Education stakeholders note that a new primary school would ease pressure on existing facilities, reduce dropout rates, and give girls in particular a better chance of remaining in school. 

Officials from the district education office have indicated they are prepared to fast-track necessary approvals if funding and land formalities are secured.

MP Masaba Muhamood has framed the initiative as part of a broader commitment to improving infrastructure in Busano. 

He has held public meetings in Muyango, met with the foundation’s regional contacts, and written formal requests to relevant government ministries seeking complementary support for teacher deployment and school feeding once the facility is ready.

While no final funding agreement has been announced, the MP’s persistent lobbying has raised hopes that groundbreaking could occur within the coming academic cycles if all parties finalise arrangements. Community representatives say they remain optimistic and are ready to mobilise once the project receives the green light.

For the children of Muyango Village, the prospect of a dedicated primary school represents more than new classrooms—it offers a tangible step toward equal opportunity and a brighter future.
