Reports suggest that as Bobi Wine’s convoy was en route to Kigorobya town council, one of the vehicles experienced a mechanical failure, resulting in a chaotic situation. Tragically, this incident led to the death of one individual.

The deceased has been identified as Norman Mugisa, a resident of Kiryateete West in Hoima city and an employee of Buhimba town council in Kikuube district.

The incident took place in Mupunda village in Kitoba sub-county at approximately 5:30 pm. It was triggered when one of the vehicles abruptly stopped, causing a collision with another motorist.

Ten people sustained serious injuries during the ensuing chaos and were promptly transported to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital for medical attention.

Unfortunately, the vehicle responsible for the crash was not identified, as it had been removed from the scene before the arrival of the police. Additionally, the deceased was reportedly taken away by a group of individuals.

The police have attributed the crash to reckless driving and have initiated an investigation into the incident. They have called upon any eyewitnesses to come forward and identify the vehicle involved in the collision.

As a result of this tragic incident, Bobi Wine altered his schedule. He was initially scheduled to hold a rally in Ndwoli village in Kitoba sub-county later that day, but instead, he attended the funeral of the crash victim.

Lastly, it’s important to note that Hoima voters are expected to participate in an election on Thursday, September 14, to elect their new district chairperson.
