Code High School Students Celebrate As Their 163 #2024UCE Candidates Pass In Dvi 1

Today afternoon, students and teachers at Code High school Setta spent about 3 hours jubilating, after UNEB announcing the 2014 UCE results.

According  to the director of the Institution, Pastor Eva Senyonga, they had 163 students in S4 in 2024, and they all passed in first grade.

While speaking to the media, the director of Code High School, Pastor Eva Senyonga urged government to do more training of the school teachers in regards to the newly introduced curriculum to enable it’s success across the country.

According to the director, this year's performers was much better and yet this is the first pass-out of students of the new curriculum.

"In 2023, Code High school managed to get 69 students in 1 grade, 37 students in 2nd grade and 19 students with 3rd grade in the just released, but we are joyful that with this new curriculum, we had all our students pass in Div one"- Pastor Eve said.

Speaking at the ceremonial event, the director of the School pastor Eva Senyonga congratulated their best performers and thanked the school teachers who put in much effort to ensure that the students passed with good grades.

Pastor Eva Senyonga also thanked the ministry of education for introducing the new curriculum which she noted that will highly benefit and equip the students with the required knowledge and hands on skills.

“before it was all about memorising biology, geography, history, learning about the mathematics formulas but with the new curriculum they are teaching with a different angle for example how are these subjects going to help them in real life which wasn’t the case before.” Pastor Eva said

According to the director previously students who have been passing with grade A in most of these subjects, haven’t been of great importance to their communities in relation to what they had learned at the schools.

“Right now students are learning to be practical hence change the world. In a few years the work force in Uganda is going to be very productive because the students will be thinkers, problem solvers due to the new curriculum’s agenda which is all about problem solving and critical thinking.” She revealed

She however noted the challenge of financial strain which has become a big challenge to most of the schools in the implementation of the newly introduced curriculum.

“the new curriculum are kinda expensive for us this is a private school so the parents pay for their children but with other schools money is a big problem yet the curriculum is hands on. So you have do a lot of practicals which involves buy scholastic materials.” She revealed

She further called upon the ruling government to come in and initiate the training of the school teachers on the newly introduced curriculum since many lack the skills and Knowledge.

It should be well noted that the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) today released the 2024 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results for transitional candidates.

UNEB Executive Director, Dan Odong, presented the results, clarifying that this examination was based on the now-defunct UCE curriculum.
