Bubulo Girls High School Seeks Over UGX 20 M For A Gate Project

Bubulo Girls High School, located in Manafwa Town Council, Manafwa District, is set to launch a fundraising drive to raise over UGX 20 million for the construction of a school gate.

The initiative is being spearheaded by the school’s alumni, led by Hon Mirriam Mukhaye the Woman MP of Mbale district, who emphasized the importance of improving security and infrastructure at the school.

“We are mobilizing over UGX 20 million in the initial phase through a fundraising dinner scheduled to take place on 6th April 2026 at Wash and Wills Hotel in Mbale city,” Mukhaye said.

She added that the alumni have organized additional activities to support the cause, including a car wash scheduled for Saturday 4th April 2026 at the Mbale Sports Club.

“The car wash will begin at 10:00 a.m., and each vehicle will be charged UGX 10,000. We encourage the community to turn up in large numbers to support this initiative,” she said.

Mukhaye also revealed that the school had produced very important people in the country and this is the only way of giving back to the school for what it did for them.

The alumni plan to hold an outreach mission at the school aimed at mentoring students.

“We shall engage learners on discipline and good behavior, and also screen educational films to guide them on making the right life choices,” she noted.

The fundraising efforts are part of a broader plan to improve the learning environment and ensure the safety of students at the institution.
