ICT Ministry & It's Sector Agencies Appear Before Parliament’s Committee On ICT To Present The Ministerial Policy Statement For FY 2026/2027




Yesterday, the Ministry  Of Information Technology And National Guidance ( ICT) And Its Sector Agencies Appeared Before Parliament’s Committee On ICT To Present The  Ministerial Policy Statement For FY 2026/2027. 

The session highlighted key priorities to advance Uganda’s digital transformation, including:

Full automation and rollout of e-services across Government agencies to enhance efficiency and service delivery.

Expansion of the National Backbone Infrastructure and last-mile connectivity to bridge the digital divide.

Scaling up digital literacy programmes to equip citizens with essential skills
promoting local innovations to support homegrown solutions, strengthening national cybersecurity to safeguard critical systems, and enforcing the Data Protection and Privacy Act to build trust in the digital ecosystem. 


These initiatives position ICT as a key enabler of socio-economic transformation and inclusive growth, ensuring that all Ugandans benefit from the opportunities of a digital future.
