NEWS:36Suspects arrested in Namugongo on Martyr’s Day.

 


Police have arrested 34 people for allegedly engaging in criminal activities at the Namugongo shrines during the Martyrs Day fete.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire The Deputy PRO KMP, said that the that as joint task teams continued  to safeguard pilgrims at Namugongo for today's Martyrs Day celebrations, they  registering more people arriving at the Anglican and Catholic shrines. 


 
However, some of these are wrong elements. By 10am 3rd June 2022 they had registered four cases of theft of phones, one of stealing from a motor vehicle and one of indecent assault at Anglican Shrine.

Meanwhile, at the Catholic shrine, they  registered 36 cases (35 thefts and one of issuing counterfeit currency).


 Police arrested 34 suspects and they are currently detained at Kira Division Police Station.
