Hon. Eng. Julius Nakiyi, MP Elect for Budadiri East, delivered a financial advisory session to Members of Parliament and CEC members at the 9-day retreat at the National Leadership Institute, Kyankwanzi.
As a Certified Public Accountant, he emphasized prudent financial decision-making and sustainable investment choices.
He cautioned against borrowing at high interest rates for low-return investments, citing the risk of taking loans at 15% to invest in returns of about 12%. Nakiyi urged leaders to focus on building net worth, not just accumulating assets, highlighting that true financial growth lies in balancing assets against liabilities over time.
He also reminded the President of the pledge to upgrade Budadiri Health Centre IV to a district hospital, stressing the need to improve healthcare access and services for the people of Budadiri East.
