Butiru county Mp Wakooli Godfrey donated over 100,000 Coffee Seedlings to his voters

Coffee seedlings have become highly sought after in Butiru County as the area Member of Parliament, Hon. Godfrey Wakooli Matembu, intensifies efforts to promote coffee farming through continuous donations to farmers.

The legislator, working through his Political Assistant, Wodada Emmanuel, has extended the distribution exercise to more sub-counties, including Bunabwana , Butiru, Butiru town council,Lwajusi sub county and Bunyiza town council reaching hundreds of farmers with improved planting materials.

The distribution exercise kicked off yesterday on Wednesday and will end on Saturday.This initiative is aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and improving household incomes across the constituency.

While Speaking to the media  during the distribution, Wodada urged farmers to take proper care of the seedlings to ensure maximum yields.

He emphasized that increased coffee production would enable families to meet essential needs such as paying school fees, accessing healthcare, and improving their standards of living.

The ongoing distribution underscores a growing shift towards commercial agriculture in Butiru, with coffee increasingly becoming a key driver of economic transformation in the area.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their happiness with their area legislator, saying this is going to boast house hold income urging other leaders to emulate Wakooli.
