Bugisu Sub-region LCV Chairpersons, have set a Central Executive Committee and a standing sub Committee ahead of August 1st Imbalu ceremony in Bumutoto.
The formulated Committees are to spearhead resource mobilisation, over see security, welfare among others, the Committees also seek to rise UGX (Shillings) 1.2 Billion prospected from Organisations working with in Bugisu Sub-region, Uganda and wellwishers.
Kigai Hosea Kimono, the Chairperson of Bugisu Sub-region LCVs, who also doubles as Manafwa District LCV Chairperson, and the Chairperson Imbalu Organising committee cleared the air about his association with one Jude Mike Mudoma of Bwa Bugisu to make him preside over the mutoto event.
Recently, Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development Gen. Henry Tumukunde Kakurugu assigned Bugisu Sub-region LCV Chairpersons to preside over Imbalu ceremony peacefully in his campaign dubbed 'Imbalu, Imbalu, Imbalu uninterrupted' to curb the anticipated fracas from the antagonising Bukuka factions.
Kigai affirmed that the Chairpersons are in charge of Organising this event.He also called on the BaMutoto clan to be corporative and make this event colourful.
Emma Bwayo, the Namisimdwa District LCV Chairman who doubles as General Secretary to Imbalu the Organising committee affirmed that 2026 Imbalu ceremony to be presided over by LCVs for clear accountability and information flow.
Bwayo unveiled the formulated committees to spearhead the event, Central Executive Committee (CEC) comprising of Bugisu Sub-region LCVs and 8 other Sub Committees.
Bwayo said Mbale City Mayor has fronted city council speaker Mafabi Sam Musambwa to represent her fully during this event.
According to Bwayo, Works Committee was allocated to Tonny Wamagale, Mbale District LCV Chairperson, Finance Committee to Nabende Guga, the LCV Chairperson-Sironko District, Culture committee to Emma Watundu from the BaMutoto Clan, Entertainment to Mafabi Sam Musambwa, speaker Mbale City Council.
He further said Welfare and Protocol Committee was allocated to Simon Peter Wanazofu the Bulambuli District Chairperson, Publicity Committee to Emma Bwayo the Namisimdwa District LCV Chairperson.
Security Committee to be presided over by RPC, RDCs in the region
Resource Mobilisation was allocated to Natubu Geofrey Wafukhulu, Bududa District LCV Chairperson Kimino Hosea Kigai is the overall Chairperson to over all the Committees.
Bwayo added that each Committee is to be beefed with more personel for administration efficiency and selection to the Committee was based of merit not factions.
He said Wilson Watila former LCV Chairperson Bududa District was allocated to Works Committee, Finance Committee Nabana Patrick and Puis Martin Mode were considered.
Other members are Pande Petero allocated to Culture Committee, Sam Watulanzu and Ivan Namalala were allocated to Welfare and Protocol Committee.
Publicity Committee is to be beefed by Mike Kaendeke and all the Bugisu media team members for purposes of information flow.
Local Security to be beefed by Allan Muduku, and Irene Khainza Mangali. Godwin Mubuya, Abner Wepukhulu, and Siraj Mutenyele were added to beef up the Resource Mobilisation Committee.
Bwayo said Mutoto Cultural Site is safe and imbalu ceremony will go on uninterrupted, he however, added that no Umukuka from the antagonising factions will preside over the event.
He also commended the Buturi County Legislator in Manafwa District-Hon. Godfrey Wakooli Matembu for the tremendous support rendered to this event.
Natuhu Geoffrey Wafukhulu the Bududa District LCV Chairperson, who doubles as the Resource Mobiliser for this event called on organizations working with in Bugisu Sub-region, Uganda and all well wishers to facilitate this event.
Nabende Guga the Sironko LCV Chairperson, who also doubles as Finance cordinator on Imbalu organizing committee called on team work to make this event a success.
Simon Peter Wananzofu, the Bulambuli District LCV Chairperson, rallied Emma Watundu and BaMutoto clan not to hide Circumcision candidates to make this event a success, he also suggested activity continuity in Bumutoto during odd years not only during Circumcision ceremony.
Imbalu ceremony for the bamasaba happens every even year and this year's event is happening on August 1st attracting many guests including Bamasaba of Kenya in Bungoma and Transnzoia counties.
